Part 8 – The Hunter’s Prey – By E.P. Marcellin

In an attempt to move faster than Moyra and her entourage, Laurin bought a horse from a farmer as he was preparing to leave the first village on the outskirts of the Campari Fens, a place he had only ever called The Swamp, or home. After an hour or so of jouncing like a sack of fish on the wide-hipped plow-horse’s back, Laurin was not so sure riding was going to be faster than walking. His backside ached worse than after the best paddling he ever received for pilfering the chief’s bananas. In fact, he wasn’t sure he would be able to walk again.
